If you have an interesting or exciting story from the past of Greensburg, feel free to let us know. Submitted By: From: Dawn L. BarnesI remember my mother & father, Tom & Barbara Barnes taking me to the events on the square when I was a child of 6. My mother had made me a big bonnet to wear and one of my favorite highlights (for some reason) was the drinking fountains on the corners of the square and getting to eat ice cream on the courthouse lawn. We have one of the Centennial booklets and its funny seeing Ashley Machine advertising in the booklet and our family now running that business. It was a great celebration in 1959! |
